nergy drink manufacturer Red Bull remains Austria’s strongest brand, followed by Swarovski and Novomatic.
The European Brand Institute has presented its annual study of the country’s most valuable brands. The Top 10 corporations in the Austrian brand ranking, “eurobrand Austria 2014” generated brand value totalling EUR 34.6 bn.
Red Bull remains unrivalled at the top of the table, with a 1.2% rise in brand value to EUR 15.5 bn. Swarovski successfully defended its second place with the brand valued at EUR 3.47 bn. Third place went to gaming companyNovomatic, whose value rose by 8.2% to EUR 2.62 bn, making it the absolute winner in growth terms. With a brand value of EUR 2.18 bn, retail giant SPAR (in German) climbed from seventh place (2013) to fourth place. The other spots went to Casinos Austria, Raiffeisen, Telekom Austria, Österreichischen Bundesbahnen (ÖBB), Erste Bank Group and oil and gas company OMV .
The Austrian brand value study “eurobrand Austria 2014” is now in its eleventh year. The 500 strongest Austrian companies by revenue are filtered for those in which at least 45% of shares are Austrian-owned. In the end more than 180 Austrian brands in 16 sectors were analysed for the following criteria: industry, brand strength, trends, brand potential and revenue.
